White fillings
White composite fillings are made from tooth-coloured materials and represent a highly advanced technology and are chosen by the vast majority of patients due to its aesthetic appearance, not to mention the fact that can easily withstand the stress required to serve in a back tooth.
Treatment procedure
Since they bond to the tooth, composite fillings restore most of the original strength of the tooth. Properly cared-for tooth coloured fillings on front teeth can last a lifetime, but on back teeth they normally last between 7 and 10 years. If you already have silver fillings but wish to change them to white fillings to make it look more natural, you can replace them with tooth coloured fillings and they are less sensitive to hot and cold compared to amalgam fillings and they require less removal of tooth structure, though it is certainly more costly than silver amalgam ones.
